Welcome to the character's section, feel free to look around more stuff will be added soon! LONG SECTION happy reading!

Goku: Goku is the series Protagonist. We first find him in the forest searching for food. He is met by Bulma, a 16 year girl who is searching for the Dragonballs. That is the start of his many adventures. He makes a lot of new freinds some of which he has reverted from evil to good. He is a Saiyajin, a race of proud mercenary warriors, who were destroyed along with their planet at the hands of Freeza, an incredibly powerful alien. Only 4 saiyajins survived those being: Goku, Vegeta, Nappa, and Raditz. He goes on to become a Super Saiyajin and eventually even more powerful than that. Chichi: Chichi is the wife of Sangoku. We first meet her in the very first volume of the manga. Then, she was about the same age as Goku (12) and had just been sent by her father (Gyamou) to go to Kamesennin's to get the Magic Eventail (? or whatever!). She is picked up by Goku on Kintoen in no.2 and he does 'Pan Pan' on her. She knocks him off of the cloud and flies straight into a mountain. Later, she thinks that this means that they must get married. We don't see her again untill volume 14, where she appears as a fighter in the Tenkachi Boudokai. Goku doesn't remember her, so she get's pissed off. It ends up with Goku beating her in a fight (volume 15) and then they get married. She turns into an over - protective mother with Gohan, but has chilled out by the time she has Goten. Gohan:Gohan is the son of SanGoku and is the first character to reach SSJ2. We first see him in volume 17, when he is only 4. He first is entrained by Piccolo, who he goes on to have great respect for. He goes to Namec in search of the original set of dragonballs. He reaches SSJ2 when he is fighting against Cell in the Cell game. He was told to fight by his father, who knew that Gohan's anger would spark a great power inside of him. But, because Gohan doesn't like fighting, by the end of the series has fallen out of training. Goten: Goten is the second son of SanGoku, and looks very much like his father did at a young age. He is able to reach SSJ even though he did not go through all the training that the others did to acheive it. I think that the theory 'if a Saiyajin child is born when his mother/father is able to acheive SSJ then the child will be able to break the barrier easily' is the most plausible. I personally don't think that Akira Toriyama thought of any specific reason why chibi Trunks and Goten were able to this, he just made them able to do it. Vegeta: Vegeta is the prince of the Saiyajin, we see him first at the very end of Volume 17, on his way to Earth. Like a lot of the bad guy's in Dragonball, he is eventually turned from evil to good. He first teams up with the Z team on Namec, when they (He, Gohan, and Krilin) discover that the commando Ginue are coming to Namec to save Freeza having to fight Vegeta, Goku, Krilin, and Gohan. Vegeta is also able to eventually turn SSJ, but he has to train much harder than Goku to attain it. Tenshinhan: Ten is the one and only triclops in Dbz. He first is seen in volume 11 when he is a fighter in the Tenkachi Boudoukai. The final is between him and Goku and he wins. He quickly falls behind in training but saves Goku's life in the fight with Piccolo Daimo. He is the second strongest non-Saiyajin character in the Z team. Chibi Trunks: Ickle Trunks is the normal timeline produce of Vegeta and Bulma. He is more spoiled and arrogant than the other Trunks. He is able to do SSJ easier than Vegeta and Goku and Gohan, like Goten. He is a year older than Goten and susequently is more powerful, but not that much. He gets annoyed when in Fusing with Goten to form Gotenks, he can't use his full power, because when fusing, the two fusee's have to be at the same power level. Even though Gotenks is extremely powerful, he can't fight properly because he cannot decide what to do, and keeps talking to himself. Future Trunks: F. Trunks appears before Goku has arrived back on Earth after the fight with Freeza. He defeats the android Freeza and his father Cold, with ease. He is the second SSJ that we see and is at that time the most powerful. He is on a mission to give Goku some medicine which will save his life. The disease that Goku had was a new strain of heart disease that he picked up on Yardrat, a strange planet where he learnt the art of teleportation. The other reason Trunks came back was os that he could train and become powerful enough to fight the cyborgs which will come and terrorise the Earth in 3 years. So Trunks tells them to train hard, and they do. Trunks also trains in the room of spirit and time with his father, Vegeta. Bulma: Bulma is a character that is very important to the series without being a fighter. She starts the whole thing off by finding Goku in the forest and making him come with her in search of the Dragonballs. She stays alive during the duration of the series and eventually fathers a son with Vegeta. That son is Trunks, and when we see the brief glimpses of the alternate timeline, they have grown very close. Krilin: The short, round, monk that becomes Goku's best friend. We meet him in volume 3 of the manga when Goku has gone off to train at Kamesennin's. He buys his way into teaching with a Porne mag, and understands Kame's taste of women. When Goku and he go to save Lunch, he runs away because the police have guns. Afterwards though, he comes out to take the credit. He is always around Goku, and later in the series, starts to feel annoyed because Goku doesn't know anything about women, (well, at the start) and still Goku manages to get a beautiful wife. He falls for #18, the sexy female android. They eentually get together and have a girl called Marron. Whether they ever got married or not, I don't know, but I doubt it. He is definetely one of my favourite characters. Yamcha: Yamcha isthe very first real fighter that Goku meets. Yamcha lives in the desert with his cat friend, Pool. Yamcha is at first just atiny bit weaker than Goku and if Bulma hadn't shown her face at the right moment, Yamcha would have beaten Goku, because Goku was too hungry to fight. But as all characters in DBZ do, Yamcha quickly falls behind Goku in training. This is mainly because, after recuperating the dragonballs for nothing, he goes off to train with Kamesennin. We meet Yamcha again at the first Tenkaichi Boudakai we ever see. He gets extremely powerful by the end of the Manga, although he is nothing compared to the Saiyajins. Dende: Dende is the little Namecian who sucseeds th old Kame when he fuses back with Piccolo. We first see him in volume 21 when Freeza is attacking a Namec village to find the dragonballs hidden within. He is save when Dodoria kills Cargo and the village cheif and Gohan goes mad. At the end of Dragonball we see that he has grown somewhat but he is not as tall as Piccolo. He is also the one that tells Piccolo that Namecs are like ants, in the way of where they are born dictates what powers they have. Some are powerful fighters, and others can heal any wound. Kamesennin: Ol' Kame is the first person to train Goku. We first see him back in episode 1, when he has a Dragonball around his neck. He offers to train Goku when he see's that Goku can do a Kamehameha after just watching himself do it. He then finds out that Goku is the adopted Grandson of the old Gohan. We have previously learned from Gyamou (Or whatever his name is) that Gohan was the first student of Kamesennin and Gyamou the second. The place where all this is happening is at the mountain of fire, where Gyamou's castle is enveloped in fire. For this reason he cannot get in to it, so he asks Goku if he can get Kame to put it out, and he does. Old Gohan: This old man is the person that taught Goku his very first basic skills in martial arts. He was a student of Kamesennins but we don't find that out until volume two of the manga. He was killed when goku looked at the full moon and transformed into a giant were-monkey. He later re-appears in volume 9 when Goku and co. are fighting the fighters of Kamesennin's sister to find out where the last Dragonball is. He is the last of five strange fighters which each have some sort of special power. He unmasks himself and says that he is glad that Goku is so strong, and asks Kamesennin to take care of Goku. Piccolo: We first see Piccolo in volume 12, but he is not the Piccolo that we all know and love. That is Piccolo Daimo, the evil part of Kami-Sama. He is extremely powerful, and only after drinking the Chochinsi water, which is a poison unless you are stronger than it, is Goku able to defeat him. But before he died, he spat out an egg which had all of his power and Demonic evil in it. That grew into the present Piccolo who after entraining himself incredibly while Goku was training in the Sanctuary, had a massive fight with Goku. This fight started in volume 16 and ended in 17. Goku won, but not without being roughed up seriously. This Piccolo eventualy fused with Nail on Namec, in hope of being powerful enough to fight Freeza but still couldn't beat the third form. He eventually fused back with Kami-Sama to fight Cell, and would have won, except Cell got away and managed to absorb an android and become more powerful. #17: This is one of the cyborgs that Trunks comes from the future to warn the present Z team about. He is incredibly powerful, and really beats the crap out of Vegeta and Trunks. 17 and 18 is quickly overshadowed though, as Cell comes back and is even more powerful than both of them together. Cell eventually absorbs 17 and gets an enourmous power up. When Vegeta and Trunks come out of the room of spirit and time, they are both more powerful than Cell in this state. But, as Vegeta is so proud, he helps Cell to absorb android 18 aswell. Although she is thrown up when Gohan starts beating up on Cell heavily. 17 is revived by the Dragonballs and ends up living in the forest as a woodcutter. 18: 18 is the counter part to 17. She is the prettiest woman in Dragonball, and is the strongest aswell. She is at the start evil and is trying to kill the Z team. 17 and 18 beat up the Z team, but don't actually kill them. She is absorbed by Cell, but unlike 17, is thrown up and is still alive. She ends up marrying Krilin, and settling down to live a normal life. They have a daughter named Marron, though the first two times we see her we don't know that she has a name. How she got together with Krilin and had a baby is not very clear, like how Goku and Chichi had Gohan. This is because in both circumstances, they happened in a several year gap in the series. Fat Buu: The pink fat child like creature is at the start an enemy. He is being controlled by Babidi, and isn't all bad. He is extremely child like, and doesn't really want to hurt people, but just is very hungry, so he uses his power to turn them all into sweets. He is eventually befriended by Satan, and a small puppy. He eventually fights the real Buu, and gets trashed. He is more powerful than Goku in SSJ3, but doesn't know how to use his strength. The reason he is different from Super Buu, is that the king of all Kaio's fused with him, and that made his form, and personality change. Chaozu: He is the little freind of Tenshinhan. As with the latter, we first see him in volume 11, at the Tenkachi Boudakai. He is a student of Turinsennin, the old rival of Kamesennins. He is strong enough to at least rival with Krilin. Like Tenshinhan, though, we see less and less of him towards the end of the manga. Marron: Marron is the daughter of Juuhachigou and Krilin. She first appears late in the series, and we don't even know her name untill even later. In GT, we see that she has (like all the other girls) grown into a pretty teenager. But, we still don't get to see much of her character. Karinsennin: The old cat that lives on top of the Karine tower. He first appears in volume 8 (I think!) when Goku is fighting Taopaipai. Taopaipai beats Goku, and the latter has to climb the tower to become stronger. Apparently, there is a sacred water, that makes you incredibly strong. It turns out to be just that in climbing the tower a few times, you get much stronger. Kami-Sama: Kami is the God of Earth. He is an old Namek-jin, who was sent to Earth just before the catastrophe on the first Namek. He has been Kami-Sama for a few hundred years, and beat Garlics father to it. Which, incedentally, drove him insane. He is very powerful, and is first met in volume 14, when Goku goes to get his friends revived. Kami asks Goku if he would like to be trained, to fight Piccolo's spawn, Ma Junior. But, as with everyone else, he is quickly surpassed. Cell: Cell is one of the major bad guys in Dbz. He comes from the future in Trunks' time machine. He was created by dr.Gero and is completely organic, unlike numbers #16, #17, #18, #19, and #20. The cells that are in him are a combination of the greatest fighters. He is able to regen like Piccolo, but in a way supperior to Piccolo. His main objective was to kill Goku, and he was able to do this by absorbing the two powerful androids. Radditz: Radditz marks the start of Drgonball Z. He appears in volume 17 of the Manga and is trying to find Goku. He flies towrds a high power source, which he reads by an eye peice called a scouter. Piccolo can do nothing against him, and Radditz is just about to beat up Piccolo when he reads th highest energy source on the planet and flies towards it. He finds Goku at Kame house, with his son Gohan. Radditz then tells Goku of his heritage, and all about the Saiyajin. He asks Goku to join him, and Goku refuses. Radditz then kicks Goku in the Gut, and Goku is unable to do anything. Radditz takes Gohan as a hostage, to make sure that Goku will go with him. Goku teams up with Piccolo and they fight Radditz. Gohan goes berserk when Radditz beats up on Goku and he weakens Radditz considerably. This enables Goku to hold on to Radditz while Piccolo shoots his Mokankousapou through them both. Freeza: Freeza is the principal bad guy of the battle on Namec. He was the strongest person in the Universe untill Goku managed to turn into a Super Saiyajin. He has four forms, each with a long process of transformation. His last one is strange as it is nothing to do with the other ones. With the rest we get to see the transformations, and they make sense. But we don't get to see this one, and it is hard to imagine how he did it. He is extremely powerful in all of his forms and even in his last one, there is a slight transformation. To obtain full power, his shoulders and arms grow to about triple their size. In spite of all this, he was beaten by Goku. Majin Buu: M. B. is the most powerful enemy in the whole of the Dragonball /Z saga. We have come to expect our fighters to eather become stronger than the enemy, or just chase them away without killing them. But in this case it is another Genki Dama that does him away. He is the produce of evil Buu absorbing Fat Buu (I think) and then becoming perfect Buu. He destroys Earth and severly batters Goku and Vegeta before being beaten by a special Genki Dama. This involves Goku getting the people of Earth to raise their hands so he can take their energy. Mega cool character.
